L’Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation Review

Hello my beautiful friends, hope you are all keeping well and healthy.

I know it has been such a long time since I’ve done a review but life has been really hectic. I am now back for good though and ready to deliver 🙂

I recently purchased L’Oreal’s True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation and thought I’d share my views with you.

Perfect Foundation for Your Handbag

True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation comes in a round, mirrored compact. This is a perfect foundation for your handbag as the delivery system and sponge make it so convenient.

To apply the foundation, you simply press the included washable sponge or the application tool of your choice (I found it worked well with fingers and brushes, too) to “dispense” product.

The texture is a lightweight fluid. In fact, for the first few passes you might not think you’re getting much coverage at all because it looks incredibly skin-like!

You can build it up to medium coverage if desired. It does a superb job covering minor discolourations and imperfections without settling into lines. It is enriched with SPF 25.

This is a fragrance-free foundation with a variety of shades (think about 7 luminous shades) and is designed for fair to deep complexions.

3 Different Undertones: Warm, Cool & Neutral

I went to Boots 3 weeks ago, tried a couple of shades and easily found my tone which is by the way Rose Beige. There are three different undertones: warm, cool, and neutral — so even if you have fair skin, there’s likely more than one colour option for you, but one might not look as good as the other depending on your undertone.

I have to admit, Loreal’s classification of undertones is generally accurate, as the neutral shades are neutral, while cool tends toward pink and warm towards yellow and gold.

Initially Loved the Finish But…

I really loved the finish; it was so dewy and natural initially and used my Rimmel Stay Matte Long Lasting powder, which I consider to be a very good setting powder, to set the foundation and it was brilliant… but only for the first 2-3 hours!

Sadly having a combination skin (oily around the nose, dry in the cheeks), this foundation did not do the trick for me. After a few hours, my face felt oily and heavy and although I did a touch up with my setting powder, my nose was still oily and my pores looked more prominent than ever.

I thought I should give it another go and did use it for the whole week, but nothing seemed to change, my skin was excessively oily around the nose and mouth after wearing the foundation for a few hours.

I must admit, had such great expectations for L’Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation as most reviews by bloggers and youtubers were fantastic and promising. To be honest, it did match my skin colour amazingly well and this is hard to find in a foundation, but the texture start losing its cover and felt uncomfortable to wear.

In terms of amount of product and how long for it would last, I can’t see it lasting as long as a regular bottle of foundation, bear in mind I only used it for a week with regular touch ups during the day and it was going a bit dried by the end of the week.

Final Verdict: Recommended

If you’ve been thinking about getting hip to the cushion foundation trend and if you have dry or even normal skin, L’Oreal’s True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation is among the best offerings, drugstore or department store.

Because of its texture, price and finish (and the fact that it leaves out irritants and fragrance), I can’t recommend it enough.

The L’Oreal Nude Magique Cushion Foundation is £14.99.

Have you tried it? What are you thoughts? Please feel free to comment below, I love reading your comments!

Stay healthy and beautiful!
